IMPORTANT LOCKDOWN UPDATE: If you’re looking at our list of local shops offering delivery and collection, bear in mind that things have now probably changed for some, possibly many, of them so check carefully.

Also, here’s a link to LBRuT’s new community hub page: https://www.richmond.gov.uk/community_hub

What times we are living in all of a sudden!  As we enter a strange limbo-land where we’re all supposed to be working together to ease pressure on the NHS and help save lives by sitting around gazing into the social distance, others opt to stampede to the shops to buy enough food to feed a small army.  It’s hard to know where we all stand… or sit.  One thing we do know is that we know about four things:

  1. Wash your hands a lot but don’t get sucked in to buying hand sanitiser for £15 a bottle
  2. Keep your mother flippin’ social distance
  3. Self-isolate if you or your fellow house occupier show symptoms of Covid19.
  4. Some locals are finding it hard to get out to get essentials and some businesses are finding it hard to keep serving their customers. Some have already closed.

And hey presto, that’s what this is all about.  We are keeping a list of local businesses that are providing services to help residents who are finding things tough during this partial lockdown. We hope it will be useful for the elderly, vulnerable and indeed any other locals who are self-isolating indoors or simply trying to avoid going out.  We’ve listed what we can and will add to it. Where possible we’ve focused on those businesses or organisations who are doing things for the most at risk groups but we will try to list everything.

Before we do, please note that:

  • We are not making any recommendations here unless we specifically say “recommended”.
  • We make no claims or judgement as to quality of service etc. Needless to say we hope they’re all great.
  • As far as we know, all your favourite take-aways are still doing exactly that so we won’t list out what you already know.

And very importantly, Richmond Council aka LBRuT aka El Brute has a dedicated web page for those wishing to volunteer help and for those who might need it. Please check that for ‘official’ council information.
