‘No pain, no gain’ is what they say and I can definitely say ‘ouch!’  Your humble correspondent ran the 2018 London Marathon, raising money for the Twickenham based homelessness charity Spear.  It was the hottest London Marathon ever and it really felt like it. Having run a marathon two years ago I thought I knew what to expect but my PB aspirations soon evaporated in the heat and I ended up finishing 23 minutes slower in a time of 4 hours 8 minutes. BUT…. the support along the route was absolutely amazing and knowing that I was running for a good cause really helped too. Twickerati readers, you raised over £1,700 which together with donations on a separate personal page has generated nearly £3,500 for Spear.

Love London

And here’s the proof… a man with a medal.

Did it!

Most importantly, you lovely lot raised a whopping £1,700 for Spear. That money will be put to good use helping tackle homelessness in south west London.  I really do appreciate all the donations you have made, what a generous bunch you are Twickenham. Thank you!

I also especially want to thank these local organisations who have contributed to the cause. Please show them your support.
