Normal service resumes?

And we’re back! Normal service has been resumed. Yes there have been crowds in Twickenham over the summer for the Olympics but rugby returns today (Saturday 1st) with the London Double Header at Twickenham Stadium. Aviva Champions, our very own Harlequins, take on Wasps at 2.00 while Saracens play London Irish at 4.30. Tickets can be purchased from 11.00am at the Twickenham Stadium Ticket Office. Expect a big, lively crowd and a lot of beer getting consumed.

But perhaps it’s not quite ‘normal service’ after all because next weekend sees Lady Gaga’s “born this way ball” roll into town for two nights at the stadium. The cross over with the usual rugby crowd is likely to be fairly small. So… expect a big, lively crowd, a lot of make up and some mighty freaky attire. You might even get to hear the strains of Gaga’s hits wafting through the Twickenham night air, hits like Poker Face, Born This Way, Bad Romance and, of course, Vogue.

And if rugby and Gaga all sound too much, there’s always the Radnor Gardens Fun Day on Sunday 2nd September from 12.00 tp 6.00pm. Music, stalls, rides. You know the drill by now.

Arriving early? Gaga fans outside the Eel Pie?

  1. I shall be attending Gaga with my daughter and I can report that the tickets were considerably more than the average International match at the same venue…I have my pants made of meat ready to go

…and what an incredible match to kick off the premiership season.
Quins allowed Wasps to run in 5 tries for fun and to establish a 40-13 lead after 60 minutes. There was a deathly silence amongst Quins fans until the supersubs came on, Tom Guest got a chargedown try, Quins picked up momentum, and ended with 29 unanswered points, giving us an amaxing 42-40 bonus point win. Brilliant comeback. Amazing atmosphere in the last 10 minutes. Massive celebrations when Nick Evans kicked the winning penalty, and at the final whistle

    Now that’s Entertainment.
It’ll be interesting to see how Lady Gaga compares next weekend!
