What now? More good news that’s what! The winners of the 2011 Richmond Business Awards were announced last night at a posh do at The Lensbury in Tedders. (Apparently they do actually call it “Tedders” over there in TW11.)
And it’s great to see some Twickenham businesses among the winners, especially as some of them are (we like to think) friends of this very site. The awards are run in association with the Richmond Upon Thames Chamber of Commerce, Talking Business and The Richmond & Twickenham Times. All sorts of different awards were up for grabs including Best Small Business, Best Digital Marketing, Best Start Up and Achievement in Corporate Social Responsibility.
Oh! What’s this? Just been handed a gold envelope…. And the Twickenham based winners were:
Winner of the People’s Choice Award: Sweet Memories
Really good to see Carla and Brian’s retro sweet shop pick up this award. They’ve put a lot of hard work into their place and it always looks great. (They were joint winners with Oliver’s Wholefoods of Richmond)
Winner of the Judges’ Special Award: Crusader Travel
Word has reached twickerati HQ of great customer service from Church Street based Crusader Travel and so it’s good to see them collect an award.
Highly Commended in the Best Small Business category: Logicspot
Run by the super-helpful Mark, Logicspot is a web design and development company that works with clients of all shapes and sizes.
Commended in the Best Customer Service category: Laverstoke Park Farm
Twickenham’s new organic butcher has proved very popular with customers. The service is good and it’s great that they got recognition for it but – and we don’t want to sound churlish here – isn’t it a bit soon? They’d been open for less than 3 months before the awards nominations closed. However, good customer service is good customer service and we’re optimistic that they’ll be able to carry on with the good work over the months ahead.
It’s just lucky that twickerati is not a viable business as we’ve managed to avoid the disappointment of not winning anything. Again.
Well done all. Keep up the good work.
