A quiet Sunday? Not for this lot.

A quiet Sunday, no traffic, people lining the streets, all for the London Surrey Cycle Classic. 140 roadies go flying down Cross Deep. It was an impressive spectacle. Brief, but impressive. And it was no wonder that the team from the police was in the lead when the race reached Twickenham, they bloody cheated and put engines on their bikes!

Update: And in case you want to know. GB’s Mark Cavendish finished first with Sacha Modolo of Italy second and Samuel Dumoulin of France third.

So, how was it for you?

I’m going to enter this next year on my folding electric bike. I’ll kick their bottoms.

It was a great event. I saw them wizz thru twickers and return thru richmond park – even more quickly. next year after 8 laps of box hill they might be a little slower…. but I doubt it.

Enjoying the whole spectacle too, from the inside of the King Street / Cross Deep corner. Hadn’t appreciated until today just how much clutter the actual cyclists are surrounded by, with all the support cars, police bikes, advance cars, ‘guest’ cars (?). All fun though!
