Sad Sad! 8 years ago when I arrived in Twickenham, my very first lunch was in Angelo. The food was so-so but they were very nice specially with kids and mothers ! It was the meeting place for NCT mothers, for cyclists on the Saturday morning. I agree, there are really worse restaurants with no added value (ie the one just in front, on the corner of heath gardens) and to be honest, I am also sad for them as they will go broke soon but will not be missed (as long as they are not replaced by yet another charity shop).
I am so saddened to hear that Angelo’s has closed. We left Twickenham almost a year ago but will never forget the kindness shown by Omar and waitress Maryanna. Yes, the decor was not as great as it could have been but there was real character there, good food and probably the warmest welcome I’ve ever received in a restaurant. My daughters loved going there, they were made to feel like VIPs – something we Brits don’t excel at. I wrote a post about Omar and his extraordinary kindness on my blog http://www.viewfromthetable.co.uk/2012/08/blue-bubblegum-ice-cream.html
I hope that there’s a good outcome somewhere along the line for these lovely people.
Angelo’s was great and i loved it. i hope it re-opens and i can see Omer again. hopefully the problems will be solved (theses are others’ problems, i found no problems myself) and it would be better than ever! they should keep the food the same as well as the drinks so that the good, old, Angelo’s is back for once and for all! it should be reopened by their bank!
please open soon Angelo’s. Xxx
This is terrible news… Best pizzas in Twckenham by a long way, (in fact we didn’t find nicer pizza in Italy on our honeymoon) and so child-friendly too. We sincerely hope that Angelos re-opens soon. David, Sandrine and the girls. (This comment section should be seen as a petition to get Angelos open again.)
Terrible news? Angelo’s was a disgrace and should have been closed after the first hygiene inspection (see copious posts elsewhere on Twickerati). It’s a worry that other restaurants in Twickenham may be getting away with such disgusting practices. You were lucky not to have caught something awful and, from your comments, you can’t have visited the disgraceful loo!
Having visited Laos, India, Jordan, Thailand, China and even Richmond upon Thames, I have seen worse loos than Angelos! Sorry to disappoint but never had a bad experience at Angelos and have to wonder what you were doing eating in a place you obviously thought a disgrace? Personally, I tend avoid places I don’t enjoy.. Angelos was often full. Still, each to their own and I wouldn’t want to challenge your dining choices. Where else do you go to have a bad night out?!
To be honest I had no idea why Angelos closed: I saw the notice regarding the Bank on Twiterati. Can’t find anything else about closure elsewhere..
I did see a mouse – as did other guests – at another (highly respected) Twickenham restaurant which charges a lot more for a meal than Angelos did. But I’ll be keeping quiet lest another favourite has to close its doors. David.

What a shame. They seemed busy enough not to have gone broke, they certainly didn’t waste any money on the decor!
We are very sad and sorry to hear Angelo has closed down. Best Food and very friendly service. Felt like going to home away from home.

think it was financial not standards, as reported earlier in the summer:
